Lesson Learned

Hello to everyone. We started a garden this Summer ( a little too late I might add) and finally have the fruits of our labor. We planted yellow squash, white bush squash( love the shape of them) , basil, lettuce, brussel sprouts and some other things. Only the squash has really come in and it is starting to get pretty chilly here at night. So we may not see much more from our little garden. Lesson Learned-in Colorado, do not start from seed, plant early June and then you might get a lot more from your garden.

Here are some image of our first squash in Colorado.

TORNADO- from last week

Well last Sunday was quite the interesting day. Rob and I were watching TV and were noticing that is was getting really really dark outside. Then on the TV it flashed that there was a Tornado WARNING for our area. So of course we go and run out side to see which way the wind was blowing . And this is what we saw. WHOA! way to close for comfort. This tornado came down and ripped up the ground. As soon as it dissipated another one came from the sky right behind it. Pretty crazy.

We watched this for about 10 minutes when our neighbor told us to look behind our house. The temperature must have dropped about 20 degrees and the hail started to pour from the sky. A Tornado was starting to form and this entire cloud was spinning pretty quick. It started to come down and move back up and then it moved back up for good. If you looks towards the bottom of the image there is a golden color. That is the dirt starting to pick up from the motion of the tornado above. Pretty close call which is really bizarre for our area since we are nestled against the foothills of the Rockies. YIKES!
